October 15th, 1938 the workshops for bearings repair was established. This date is considered the beginning of the history of the Tenth Bearing Plant.
The workshops has been arranged at the former property of Novoposelenskaya church. Its productivity was 80 thousands restored bearings per year. Initially there was a shortage of skilled staff, experience of precision manufacturing, qualitative raw material and technical base.
During the Second World War repair workshops was evacuated to Azerbaijan, city of Baku. The company team has shown special valor, successfully performing government tasks on production orders for the front. In March 1945 it decided to organize plant for ball and roller bearings restoration in hometown Rostov-on-Don. From the April 1946 post-war production was launched.
November 12th, 1955 plant for bearing's repair was reorganized into the Tenth State Bearing Plant (ГПЗ-10) by decree of the Minister of the automotive industry of the USSR. The plant successfully developed together with the other bearing enterprises of the country. It specialized in the production of ball bearings: radial, radial-spherical, angular contact and thrust. For many years the development of the plant was largely determined by the general trends of the domestic bearing production. Significant development the plant received in 70-80s. It constantly increased its production capacity and in the mid of 80s the figure had reached 75 million bearings per year.
Open Joint Stock Company TENTH BEARING PLANT has been registered according to solution
of Rostov-on-Don administration 25th of August 1993. At that time the plant has a well-established specialty and strong cooperative ties. The leading automotive plants in Russia and CIS: GAZ, VAZ, UAZ, UralAZ, BelAZ, MAZ, KrAZ and others were among its customers. The factory produced more than 18% of the total volume of output commodity products of bearings in Russia.
Since 1998 it was period of increase of production. By 2001 the volume of manufacture of bearings has grown by 40%. Product structure as well as marketing system was changed, new types of bearings was developed and a dealer network was enlarged and it began to cover almost all regions of Russia. Relations with foreign partners were based on new, more profitable for the plant conditions. However, the priority for the plant was a domestic manufacturers, theirs quality requirements and reliability of the bearings. Comprehensive modernization of the production was made with special attention paid to blank production.
In December 2004, the company changed owner and elected a new board of directors.
Severe economic situation in 2008 has led to a decrease in demand in the Russian market, which many businesses have suffered, including enterprises of the steel industry and automotive. Operational solutions in production and marketing in that situation allowed to not only control the losses and maintain the production capacity, but also to plan the company's development.
The Tenth Bearing Plant improves annual profits, increases the range of products and adds technical base. Today the plant provides domestic and foreign markets with competitive products at the best price.
