In June, industrial production in Russia increased by 10.4% compared to the same period last year. For six months, the growth was 4.4% compared to January-June 2020, according to the latest data from Rosstat.
The growth of industrial production by June 2020 was shown by: mining-by 13.8%, manufacturing - by 7.7%, the energy sector, heat and gas supply - by 8%, as well as industries related to water supply and sanitation, waste disposal and pollution elimination - by 32.3%. The high growth rates are partly explained by the fact that a number of restrictions related to the pandemic were still in effect in June 2020.
Compared to the first half of 2020, growth was recorded: in manufacturing industries - by 6.4%, in the energy sector - by 8.6%, in the field of water supply, sanitation and waste disposal - by 21.9%. Despite the June growth, the production index for the first half of the year in the raw materials sector turned out to be zero.
