The Russian car market remained on sixth place in Europe in June
The Russian automotive market which continued to grow in June nevertheless failed to return to the top five European leaders, remaining the sixth largest in Europe.
According to the information obtained by the agency "AUTOSTAT" in the national associations of European automakers, Germany remains the leader in selling cars in June, where 327693 cars were sold (-3.5%). The UK is on the second place. UK car dealers sold 243454 cars (-4.8%). As noted by UK Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT) negative dynamics is fixed for the third consecutive month, due to record sales in the first quarter and prudence of British consumers in the run-up of parliamentary elections. However, in June, the recession in demand slowed and the level of selling almost returned to projected values.
The third result was shown by France - 230926 cars, which is 1.6% more than in the previous year. Next one is Italy - 187642 cars were sold (+ 12.9%). Accordin to the Italian National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ANFIA), this is the best result since 2009, while sales growth reached double-digits value. The first in the top five leaders is Spain, whose car market grew by 6.5% in June and amounted to 131797 cars.
If considering the car market in Europe to take into account Russia, then our country remains at the sixth place in Europe ranking. According to the agency "AUTOSTAT" estimates, sales of cars increased by 17.3% last month and amounted to 130670 cars (excluding LCV).
