Vegetables from the wheels: car shops will stand on the conveyor

Овощи с колес: автолавки встанут на конвейер

"Group GAZ " ramp up production avtolavok when they removed all existing restrictions on their work, learned to "Gazeta.ru". Now the development of mobile commerce is being hampered due to legal regulation problems: the existing law on trade does not contain the concept of a “mobile shopping facility,” the company believes.

“Accordingly, all approvals for a mobile outlet occur in the same way as for a stationary one. Each approval takes a lot of time, the very idea of “mobility” is lost. The adoption of the relevant law will give a serious impetus to the development of this promising market segment, ”GAZ Group’s press service told Gazeta.ru.

According to company estimates, the capacity of this market is approximately 50 thousand cars per year in the next five years.

In addition to increasing production volumes at automobile plants, the growth of this segment of the automotive industry will also have a cumulative effect by providing jobs to hundreds of manufacturers of special equipment and suppliers of specialized equipment.

GAZ offers automobiles based on the Gazeli Nekst for mobile trading. These are car dealerships, car cafes, food trucks, and cars for organizing catering at street events.

In Sollers also confirmed their intention to upload their capacity to meet the demand for auto shops with an increase in the volume of orders. To this end, production of auto shops based on UAZ Profi and a Ford Transit van will be launched.

The company’s assortment includes a universal van for the sale of groceries with the possibility of installing display cases and shelves; a van for the sale of meat, dairy and fish products with display cases and refrigerated cabinets in various combinations with additional equipment. The development of an isothermal van and refrigerator truck based on the classic UAZ family is also underway, Sollers said.

However, Sollers believes that “the availability of subsidies for vehicles, fuel and lubricants, as well as a subsidized leasing program, preferably with a seasonal payment schedule,” will help make this type of trade profitable.

The AvtoVAZ company reported that they are not engaged in the conversion of their products into car shops, this is done by third-party companies. Concern PSA Peugeot Citroen did not answer questions about the release of such products, the representative of Mercedes-Benz refrained from commenting.

In the open air

The bill on mobile commerce was submitted to the State Duma in 2018, but then postponed. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , it will help to separate “mobile vendors (car shops, etc.) from non-stationary trading, that is, not to consider a car shop as a kiosk”. According to Manturov, the development of mobile commerce will help to annually sell about 4.5 million tons of agricultural products, as well as create 250 thousand new jobs.

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has already promised to return to the consideration of the bill on non-stationary and mobile trade.

“Let us then quickly get involved in this work and try to consider the bill during the spring session,” Volodin said at a government hour.

Mobile commerce offers great opportunities for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, automakers agree. First of all, this is a significant reduction in costs compared to the creation of a stationary outlet.

For customers - this is the convenience and accessibility of goods at a lower price compared to stationary stores.

For city administrations, this is trade with modern, beautifully designed cars that comply with all current environmental and sanitary standards, leaving the trading place for the night, according to GAZ.

Since trading with “shop benches” takes place in the open air, it has a clear advantage over closed storerooms, given the current epidemiological situation. This service allows you to minimize population congestion in large shopping centers and reduce the burden on public transport.

In the conditions of falling demand for cars, the release of car dealerships will support auto companies, in addition, for many Russians, this niche may become a new source of income, automobile expert Sergei Ifanov believes.

“On average, a car shop based on a domestic car costs about 1.5 million rubles. - This is good enough money for the plant and not so critical for a novice businessman. It should be beneficial to everyone. The main thing is that the local authorities do not strangle this idea by various standards, as often happens with us, ”Ifanov said.
